This is a community hospital that includes a Main OR, an Ambulatory Surgery Unit, two pre-op and post-op areas, and a special procedures unit.
- The hospital is part of a multi-facility group in Wisconsin
- A major goal is for the hospital to be a paperless, all digital facility
- NWC was contracted to manage the implementation of the Surgical, Preoperative and Anesthesia Information Systems.
New West responsibilities include:
- Develop the project scope, project goals and objectives and the project plan.
- Integrate the project plan and resource allocation plan with Microsoft Project Server tools and corporate project management office.
- Team time tracking and project metric monitoring to ensure timelines were met
- Design and document all workflows related to system use, materials management, case cart management, registration, charting and billing
- Design and document physical layout of the I.T. systems for the new perioperative areas. This includes locations of all data drops, telephones, PC's, Tablet PC's and printers.
- Develop policies and procedures for system use and maintenance.
- Develop all data collection and data entry standards.
- Define and develop custom databases and screens to support preoperative, Intraoperative and Anesthesia real-time charting.
- Implement 5 interfaces for ADT, Billing, EMR and Lab results.
- Integration the perioperative system with all other systems in the OR (PACS, Video System, Materials Management, perfusion and pharmacy).
- Test Script development and execution for unit and integration testing for all interfaces and modules.
- Develop and execute training plans for all staff on all modules
- Develop and train the system administrator.
